New Barn, East Sussex
Salamander supplied and built this insulated barn with an electric roller shutter door and personnel door ready for the next fit-out stage to be used as a light industrial unit.
Garden office, landscaping & decking, Uckfield
We built a garden office and carried out the hard and soft landscaping & lighting for this new pathway which runs through the garden and past a new pond. We also constructed a large decking area including the frame, using Trex composite decking which is 95% recycled materials.
Swimming pool, hot tub & decking, West Sussex
Salamander undertook the design, groundwork and construction of this beautiful swimming pool with limestone paving surround, sundeck and sunken hot tub. For the sundeck we used Trex composite decking which is 95% recycled materials. The glass balustrade finished off the area without distracting from the views and the sunken hot tub allows the perfect position to take in the views that surround this lovely home.
Gym conversion for old dairy barn, Haywards Heath
We carried out a conversion of an old dairy barn into a large gym which is now PBD Fitness Ltd. Salamander put up new internal walls, built up the floor and concreted with a power float finish. We installed personnel doors, a ramp, wood cladding to the outside, boxed in the roof lights and insulated the entire internal structure.
Country house renovation, Steyning
We carried out a renovation of a 3,500 square foot country house where we modernized all aspects of the existing building using the latest technology making it a home for the 21st century. We retro-fitted an underfloor water heating system throughout the ground floor and fully insulated and converted an existing double garage. We also added a wood-clad workshop separate to the house. We renewed the internal layout creating an open plan kitchen and extended to make a large utility. We renovated all 5 bathrooms and installed new water and heating systems. We fitted wooden flooring throughout the main house and LVT throughout the garage and lobby area after installing electric underfloor heating here.
Design & construction of 3 barns, Applesham Farm
Salamander have completed the design, construction & conversion of three separate buildings at Applesham Farm near Lancing. One of the buildings (pictured) makes the most of a tight situation by using the columns of an existing building and then extending new columns upwards to make the new barn tall enough for significant bale storage.
Design & construction stable barns, Long Furlong
This project included the design and construction of two new barns that are now in use as stables. One of the barns used the columns of an existing barn to 'mirror' what was already in place.
Grade II listed 4 Storey Renovation, Brighton
Salamander undertook the renovation of a Grade II listed 4 storey house in Brighton from 3 dilapidated flats back to its former glory. This included all aspects of planning and design, restoring many of the original features of the Victorian home and our beautifully crafted fixtures and fittings were in keeping with the period.
Large general purpose barn, Steyning
Salamander undertook the design, planning and construction of a 900 square metre barn in the South Downs National Park. Once planning was approved we started working on the significant groundworks which allowed the barn to be set back into the surrounding ground and become part of the landscape. The barn itself was recycled from another site and needed various adjustments to fit into its new location.
Groundworks & construction of cow kennel, Merrion Farm
We provided demolition, groundwork and construction services for a multi-span wooden cow kennel structure with concrete floor, providing excellent ventilation for a healthier herd and kennels of a good size for great cow comfort. We used pre-painted steel or fibre cement roofs with translucent roof sheets for optimum natural light.
